From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a wide array of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in strength within the city.

The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of characters who will split off from the main group to begin their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might look out of place, but the actions of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
First, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his debts and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their status as important members in House Halovar could enable the party reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in quest for the antagonist.
Future Episodes
Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group will be absent next week, leaving the remaining eight participants to form the Questers and Schemers tables.
Viewers can anticipate discovering which players will be in which group in the story’s last Overture episode, available to watch on October 24.
